We lead with compassion in our academically challenging community with a tradition of valuing all voices; all community members are on a first name basis and help to make decisions together.
Block Scheduling: Students focus deeply on a few (2-4) subjects at a time depending on their needs and preferences. While still being able to attain 14-16 credits minimum a year.
Smaller classes: combined with our schedule that has tutoring time embedded in it, supports academic rigor and successful completion of classes.
Paid Internships: Through our Learning To Work partnership with East Side House Settlement students can intern at different companies throughout NYC.
Portfolio Based Assessment Tasks (PBATs): You will NOT take 4 of the required 5 New York State Regents standardized exams. Instead, you will create and defend inquiry projects in four core subject areas. This is real college preparatory work!
