Overview written by the school: Dreamyard Prep's mission is to support young people in becoming Life-Ready, which means that they will be accepted to a college of their choice with a clear career path. All students will declare an Arts Major in their junior and senior years. We promote community-building by using Restorative Practices to address social-emotional challenges and Circles to address conflict. All students have opportunities to engage in community service and paid internships. We conduct college visits starting in 9th grade, and all 10th and 11th Grade students participate in yearly college overnight trips. Our elective classes include visual art, dance, digital media, choral music, theater, digital photography, culinary arts and musical production.

Program description: Students will take arts classes each year of high school. In 9th and 10th Grades, students take an Arts Elective Class each semester in Choral Music, Dance, Theater, or Visual Arts. In 11th and 12th grades, students choose a major in one of these areas. Each semester, students are expected to participate in an arts exhibition or performance. Students with a strong interest in the arts can participate in summer intensives in their area of choice.
