George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School

Our college and industry partnerships provide our students with opportunities to earn industry certifications and college credits. Students may apply to Computer Information Systems and Repair, Culinary, Electrical Installation and Practice, Multimedia Internet Technology, or the Brooklyn STEAM Center. Upon completion of a three-year course of study, they are eligible to receive a New York State Career and Technical Education (CTE) Endorsement in our approved CTE programs.

Program description: All students study programming languages including HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, UNITY and Scratch to develop mobile applications and website hosting. During the senior year, students prepare for the AP Computer Science Principles exam. Industry professionals, in collaboration with industry partners, work with students to develop their skills and prepare them for internships. Students are expected to participate in work-based learning activities including job shadowing, school trips and internships.
