Pelham Preparatory Academy

High expectations for achievement, the promotion of an intellectually-engaging learning environment through authentic experiences and collaborative problem-solving, enable our students to effectively transition to college and career pathways. Our teachers and staff work closely with students and families to promote social and emotional learning experiences aligned to rigorous academic standards with a strong emphasis on cultivating literacy skills in every subject area. Our partner, the University of Vermont, immediately begins collaborating with 9th graders in an effort to initiate the college application and essay-writing process through graduation.

Program description: Our program allows students to experience the quality instruction that has been PPA's story since our inception. We engage, support, and challenge students as they participate in college-ready thinking, writing, and behaviors, such as reflection and persistence. For this, it takes a community working collaboratively to build common practices. Thereby, our program implements rigorous curricula that exceeds standards, while nurturing student potential in a caring and safe environment.
