School for Excellence

Overview written by the school: School for Excellence (SFE) is a small school, focused on College and Career Readiness. Students participate in educational experiences that will instill civic and global awareness. Our school program exceeds beyond the traditional high school curriculum. For example, we have a campus farm where students grow, harvest and sell crops. We provide rigorous/multicultural curricula that integrate art and technology in academic and AP classes. We begin college/career awareness and preparation in the ninth grade with counseling, activities, events and trips to colleges. Some of our graduates have attended colleges such as Hunter College, Syracuse University, Columbia University, SUNY Albany and Borough of Manhattan Community College.
