Each incoming student receives a career foundation in an introductory STEM course covering Engineering Design, Engineering Fundamentals, Computer Aided Design, Digital Electronics, and Computer Art.
Each student then selects and pursues one CTE program from the following: Computer Networking and A+ Computer Repair, Transit Technician, or Electrician.
Whether a student is interested in entering the workforce immediately, pursuing a higher education, or becoming an entrepreneur, the College and Career Office helps them create individual career plans based on their unique goals.
Internships and training are available to all students through industry partners, including the New York City Transit Authority, Long Island Railroad, Amtrak, Scholars At Work, NYC Division of School Facilities, and more.
Pre-college programs are also available to all students, including the LIU Early College Scholars Program where students can earn two years of college credit, while in high school. We also offer CUNY College Now courses, Advanced Placement courses, College-Level CTE courses, and Industry Certifications.
